Note:

After an ignition OFF / ON procedure, the TC control unit sends test signals via Ter. 5 and 21 to the Motronic M 2.8 control unit (Ter. 50 and 38). These test signals can be observed in the currently selected TECH 1 parameter and the corresponding Motronic TECH 1 parameter.

It is important to wait some time after ignition OFF, to allow the two control units in question adequate time for a correct shut down procedure.

If the test signals cannot be observed, the following checks for these parameters must be performed, as these checks likewise cause the TC control unit to send corresponding engagement signals in a normal operating mode.
