Brake Linings, Check for Wear Front wheel brake:
 Remove, Disconnect Remove brake linings - see operation "Break Linings - Front Wheel Brake, Remove and Install.". |

Measure for brake disc minumum thickness and brake lining remaining thickness mit MKM-230-A. The permitted remaining thickness of brake lining with lining plate: 7 mm. For required values for brake discs - see "Technical Data - Disc brakes".
 Install, Connect Install break linings - see operation "Brake Linings - Front Wheel Brake, Remove and Install". |

Remove, Disconnect Remove brake linings - see operation "Brake Linings - Rear Wheel Brake, Remove and Install".
 Measure Measure brake lining remaining thickness and brake disc minimum thickness using MKM-230-A. Minimum permissible thickness of brake disc: 7 mm/ 0.275 in. Permissible remaining thickness of brake lining with lining plate: 7 mm/ 0.275 in. For required values for brake discs - see "Technical Data - Disc brakes".
Install, Connect Install break linings - see operation "Brake Linings - Rear Wheel Brake, Remove and Install". |

Remove, Disconnect Lever out plugs for brake pad wear inspection hole.
 Inspect Permissible remaining thickness of lining without lining holder: 2.5 mm/0.098 in. For Astra-F Estate as of MY '96: 1.0 mm/0.039 in. |

Brake linings of parking brake with rear disc brakes:
Remove, Disconnect Remove brake disc - see operation "Brake Disc - Rear Wheel Brake, Remove and Install".
Inspect Permissible remaining thickness of lining without lining holder: 1.0 mm/0.039 in.
Install, Connect Install brake disc - see operation "Brake Disc - Rear Wheel Break, Remove and Install". |
