DIS Ignition Module Adapter (Coolant Flange), Remove and Install  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove lower radiator hose from radiator - collect coolant.   Detach/disconnect all wiring harness plugs connected to the wiring harness (2).   Detach ignition cable (1) from DIS ignition module.   Detach tank vent valve (3) from bracket and lay aside.   If present: detach vacuum hose (4) from exhaust gas recirculation valve.   If present: remove secondary air combination valve - see operation "Secondary Air Combination Valve, Remove and Install (X 18 XE, X 20 XEV)" in group "L".   Detach coolant hose from DIS ignition module adapter.   Remove fastening bolts (5) and remove DIS ignition module adapter.

  Clean   

Clean sealing surfaces and remove sealant remnants.  

  Install, Connect   

When replacing, transfer attaching parts.  

Attach DIS ignition module to cylinder head with new seal - tightening torque 20 Nm / M8 and 30 Nm / M10.  

Attach coolant hose to DIS ignition module adapter.  

If removed: install secondary air combination valve - see operation "Secondary Air Combination Valve, Remove and Install (X 18 XE, X 20 XEV)" in group "L".  

Attach vacuum hose to exhaust gas recirculation valve.  

Install tank vent valve in bracket.  

Connect ignition cables to DIS ignition module - note ignition sequence.  

Attach/connect all cable connections.  

Attach lower radiator hose to radiator.  

  Inspect   

Cooling system - see operations "Cooling System, Top Up and Bleed" and "Cooling System, Check for Leaks".
