Coolant Pump, Remove and Install
 Remove, Disconnect Remove lower coolant hose from radiator - collect coolant. Vehicles until MY '93: Remove rear toothed belt cover - see "Removing and installing rear toothed belt cover" service instructions. Vehicles from MY '93 onwards: remove toothed belt tension roller - see "Removing and installing toothed belt tension roller (MY '93 onwards)" service instructions. Remove fastening bolts (arrow) and remove coolant pump.
 Clean Clean sealing surfaces and remove sealant remnants.
 Install, Connect Smear sealing surface with silicon grease (white) before installing coolant pump. Install coolant pump in cylinder block with new seal ring - tightening torque 25 Nm, ensuring that coolant pump feeder (2) is in alignment with its counterpart (1) on the cylinder block. |

Install, Connect Vehicles from MY '93 onwards: install toothed belt tension roller - see "Removing and installing toothed belt tension roller (MY '93 onwards)" service instructions. Vehicles until MY '93: install rear toothed belt cover - see "Removing and installing rear toothed belt cover" service instructions. Install lower coolant hose at radiator.
 Inspect Cooling system - see operations "Cooling System, Top Up and Bleed" and "Cooling System, Check for Leaks".
