Air-mass Flow Meter (Petrol)  

Measurement:	Plot of the signal voltage for the air-mass flow meter.
Check Objective:	Operational check

Preparation  

Switch off the engine and ignition.  

Connections  

INPUT A	COM/TRIGGER
Connect red measurement lead to the plug connector for the air-mass flow meter.
Motronic:
Connect pin 4, ground lead to pin 1.
Simtec:
Connect pin 2, ground lead to pin 4.

Procedure  

Start the engine and allow it to idle. Then depress the [REPEAT TEST] key, press the accelerator pedal quickly to the limit stop and then release it again.  

Reference Curve

If the measured signal plot does not approximately correspond with the reference curve after repeated testing, the air-mass flow meter is probably faulty and should be replaced if necessary.
