Note the following when selecting main bearing shells: Main bearing shells are divided into three classes. The class depends on the bore diameter for main bearing shells in the cylinder block and is identified by one digit per cylinder in the cylinder block, see F4489, top. The inner diameter of the main bearing shell depends on the outer diameter of the main bearing journal. Depending on diameter, the crankshaft webs are marked with "-" or "- -". The digits (1 to 5) refer to the relevant main bearing journals. The (1) refers to the main bearing journal on the left in illustration F4489, bottom; the others to each of the main bearing shells on the right. Using these codes, the bearing shell with the corresponding bearing play can be selected - see "Technical Data". |
