Intake Manifold, Remove and Install (X 17 DTL)  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Disconnect vacuum hose (1) from exhaust gas recirculation valve. Remove fastening clamp (2) from exhaust gas recirculation corrugated metal pipe.   Remove upper charge air hose (3) from intake manifold.

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove charge air hose (1) from intake manifold.   Remove exhaust manifold - see operation "Exhaust Manifold, Remove and Install (X 17 DTL)".   Remove intake manifold with bracket for alternator wiring harness plug from cylinder head.

  Clean   

Clean sealing surfaces and remove gasket residue.  

  Install, Connect   

Attach intake manifold with new gasket to cylinder head - 22 Nm/16 lbf. ft. Note alternator wiring harness plug bracket.  

Install exhaust manifold - see operation "Exhaust Manifold, Remove and Install (X 17 DTL)".  

Attach charge air hose to intake manifold.  

Attach upper charge air hose to intake manifold.  

Attach vacuum hose to exhaust gas recirculation valve. Attach fastening clamp to exhaust gas recirculation corrugated metal pipe - 5 Nm/3.5 lbf. ft.
