Alternator V-belt Tension, Adjust  

Notice: 

Version I:	- normal version
Version II:	- India version

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove air intake hose and air cleaner housing.  

  Adjust   

For version I: Loosen fastening bolts (1) and (2) of the tensioning shackle (3) - swing alternator aside until adjustment value is attained.   For version II: Unscrew fastening bolts (4) and remove alternator bracket (7). Release locking bolt (5) and set the adjustment value at adjusting nut (6).

  Adjust   

Adjust V-belt tension with KM-128-A. Press lever until the pin touches the V-belt and a buzzing noise is audible. Multiply the value read by 100 - this corresponds to the V-belt tension in N.  

V-belt tension:
new V-belts	450 N
used V-belts	250 - 400 N

  Install, Connect   

For version I: Attach tensioning shackle to alternator and intake manifold - 25 Nm/ 18.5 lbf. ft.  

For version II: Tighten locking bolt - tightening torque - 35 Nm/ 26 lbf. ft. Attach alternator bracket - tightening torque - 18 Nm/ 13.5 lbf. ft.  

Install air cleaner housing and air intake hose.
