Only use 19 40 656 (90 297 545) anti-freeze and ensure a concentration of 50%. The purpose of anti-freeze is to protect not only the entire cooling system against freezing but also all coolant-affected parts against rust and lime deposit. It is for this reason particularly important that anti-freeze is replenished periodically in tropical regions as well.

Water quality also plays an important role in addition to the anti-freeze mixture. Potable tap water should normally suffice to fulfil these requirements. The quality of regenerated sea water is not suitable.

Engine damage can also result from the use of non-authorised anti-freeze.

If radiator, cylinder head or cylinder head gasket has been replaced, used coolant may not be re-used!

After closing the cooling system, let engine run warm until thermostat opens (coolant temperature approx. 92 ° C/194 ° F).

Cooling system bleeds automatically during engine warm-up phase.

Allow engine to cool; if necessary, top up coolant to mark on compensation tank.
