Feed Start, Check and Adjust  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Detach injection lines (1) and (2).   Central ventilation bolt (arrow) from injection pump distributor body.     Adjust    Position the crankshaft at the "TDC" identification mark. The identification mark (arrow) on the crankshaft V-belt pulley must align with the tip of the oil pump.

  Install, Connect   

Deactivate cold start engine speed increase lever (1) with screwdriver. Install dial gauge holder with seal ring in distributor body, insert Dial Gauge KM-798 (2) with probe in dial gauge holder.     Inspect    Fit dial guage KM-798 (2) with pretensioning, until the contact pin lies on the pump piston. Rotate the crankshaft in the motor direction at ca. 60 degrees for 1. cylinder "Ignition OT". The injection pump piston will be at the lower dead spot.   Set dial gauge to "0". Check gauge setting by turning crankshaft slightly to and fro. Pointer of dial gauge must not deflect. Turn crankshaft in engine rotational direction to TDC mark (arrow) and read off test value from dial gauge.   Test value: 0.50 to 0.60 mm. If test value is not attained, the injection pump must be adjusted.

  Adjust   

Loosen union nuts on injection line.  

Loosen fastening nuts on injection pump and fastening bolts on injection pump bracket.   Turn injection pump, until adjustment value is attained. Adjustment value: 0.55 mm.   Value too high - turn injection pump towards engine.   Value too low - turn injection pump away from engine.     Check the setting, by turning the crankshaft again to 1. Zylinder "Ignition OT". Read off the value from the dial guage.

  Tighten (Torque)   

Injection pump to cyinderblock - 23 Nm. Holder to injection pump - 34 Nm. Vent screw (with new copper washer) to injection pump - 20 Nm. Injection line to injection pump and nozzle holder - 25 Nm.     Remove, Disconnect    Remove screwdriver and remove Dial Gauge KM-798 with holder.
