Subject:

Removal of Fuel Solenoid Valves from Diesel Injection Pumps - X17DTL engines

Vehicles:

All Astra-F fitted with the X17DTL diesel engine

Condition:

Recent investigations at the Vauxhall Material Return Centre have highlighted that an increasing number of  fuel solenoid valves (Part No. 90540270) are being incorrectly removed from the diesel injection pump. This practice results in damage to the valves, rendering the unit defective, and making testing for the original failure impossible.

Remedy:

Should it become necessary to remove the fuel solenoid valve, then please ensure that the correct removal procedure is adhered to.  This procedure can be found on TIS, and a copy is attached overleaf for your convenience.

Note:

If, upon inspection, valves are found to be damaged because of incorrect removal procedures, then the valve may be returned and the respective warranty claim debited accordingly.
