Ignition OFF

Connect checking spark plug (1+4)

Ignition ON

Engine OFF

Press F5 key in the system main menu, using the arrow keys select the desired test and confirm with YES. Follow the instructions in the TECH 1 Display.

 

Note:

The checking spark plug is actuated at a frequency of 2 Hz (actuation period 10 ms). The test is completed after a maximum of 30 s.

Trouble-shooting:

(If nominal value is not attained)

·   Ignition OFF

·   Remove DIS wiring harness plug L 2

·   Ignition ON

·   Activate Actuator Test No. 06

·   Using multimeter, measure voltage:

from:      DIS wiring harness plug Ter. 3

to:          ground

 

 

 

 

 

 

Alternating display

0.02 to 0.8 volts

 

 

·   If nominal values are not attained, carry out test A to D

·   If nominal values are attained, proceed to test E

 

Test A

·   Ignition ON

·   Measure voltage:

from:      DIS wiring harness plug Ter. 3

to:          ground

 

 

 

 

less than 1 volt

 

 

 

·   Short circuit in wiring harness

from:      control unit K 57/K 91 Ter. D 10

to:          battery voltage

 

Test B

·   Ignition OFF

·   Remove control unit

·   Measure resistance:

from:      control unit K 57/K 91 Ter. D 10

to:          ground

 

 

 

 

 

greater than 22 kW

 

 

·   Short circuit to ground in wiring harness

from:      control unit K 57/K 91 Ter. D 10

to:          ground

 

Test C

·   Measure resistance:

from:      control unit K 57/K 91 Ter. D 10

to:          DIS wiring harness plug Ter. 3

 

 

 

·   Lead interruption

from:      control unit K 57/K 91 Ter. D 10

to:          DIS module Ter. 3

 

Test D

If nominal values are attained, that means wiring harness OK

 

 

 

·   Control unit defective

 

Test E

·   Ignition ON

·   Measure voltage:

from:      DIS wiring harness plug Ter. 1

to:          ground

 

 

 

 

greater than 11 V

 

·   Lead interruption

from:      ignition lock Ter. 15

to:          DIS module Ter. 1

·   Short circuit in wiring harness

from:      ignition lock Ter. 15

to:          ground

 

·   Measure voltage:

from:      DIS wiring harness plug Ter. 1

to:          DIS wiring harness plug Ter. 2
