Engine running at idle speed, operating temperature

Vehicle stationary

 

 

Press key F6 in the system main menu, select the reset mode with F1. Select the desired control unit reset using the arrow keys and confirm with YES. Follow the instructions in the TECH 1 display.

IMPORTANT:

During the control unit reset, RST appears in the lower right corner of the TECH 1 display.

In the X 14 XE and X 16 XE engines (MY '95) it may happen that the control unit does not perform a reset. In this case: disconnect control unit from wiring harness.

 

Note:

The learned values are reset to allow the knock behaviour of a petrol engine to be evaluated. The mechanic/  Service technician can determine the engine knock on a test drive and from the reaction of the control unit.
