For C 14 NZ and X 14 NZ: In the case of a defective engine control unit or programme memory, it is necessary to replace the engine control unit completely. Transfer the data (part numbers and letter code) of the defective engine control unit onto the label of the new engine control unit.
C 16 NZ, X 16 SZ, 16 LZ2, and C 18 NZ: if engine control unit or program memory are defective - see operation "Program Memory, Remove and Install (C 16 NZ)" or "Program Memory, Remove and Install (X 16 SZ, 16 LZ2 and
C 18 NZ)".
For 16 NZR and X 16 SZR: In the case of a defective engine control unit or programme memory, it is necessary to replace the engine control unit completely. The vehicle data must be programmed into the new engine control unit by means of TECH1/TECH1A or TECH 2 - see corresponding operational steps in the test instruction. Before installation, the new engine control unit must be lettered with the calibration code of the defective engine control unit.
