OKAY?

For the display on the right, proceed likewise according to the information on the preceding page or in the latest "Technical Information Bulletin".

If the question is answered with "YES", the control unit will be reprogrammed with the programming code shown in the display. Note that when the control unit is reprogrammed, it presumes that it is installed in a vehicle with manual transmission. For vehicles with automatic transmission, therefore, shift at least once from "P" or "N" to "D" and back again with ignition ON after programming. The control unit is then aware that it is installed in a vehicle with automatic transmission.

OKAY?

If the question is answered with "NO", the sub-menu on the right appears in TECH 1.

Selection of the menu item F0:RESET programs the control unit with the basic application.

Note that the control unit presumes that it is installed in a vehicle with manual transmission after reprogramming.

F1:CHANGE

By selecting menu item F1:CHANGE, it is possible to reprogram the control unit to any desired code. At present, however, only the code for the basic application is permitted. Further codes and their applications will be published in the relevant "Technical Information Bulletins TI". This procedure will be used in the future for any performance improvements that are required (previously various coloured RON coding plugs). In addition, note that  the control unit assumes that it is installed in a vehicle with manual transmission after reprogramming.

If the display on the right appears after programming, an invalid programming code has been entered. Programming should be repeated with a valid code.
