Remove and install induction manifold (C 14 NZ, X 14 NZ, 16 NZR, C 16 NZ, X 16 SZ, X 16 SZR, 16 LZ2 and C 18 NZ)
Important!
Fuel escapes - observe safety and local regulations. Fuel system is under pressure. Remove fuel pump relay - see operation "Fuel Pump Relay, Remove and Install". Start engine at least 5 sec. - fuel pressure reduction.
Install, Connect
Install intake manifold with new gasket at cylinder head - tightening torque 22 Nm/16 lbf. ft.
For engines from MY '93: install support and strap on induction manifold and generator - tightening torque 18 Nm. Tighten lower generator fastening bolt - tightening torque 35 Nm. Place ribbed V-belt in position - tension ribbed V-belt by means of ribbed V-belt tension roller and KM-913-A. Note direction of motion of the ribbed V-belt.
Engines with V-belt: install V-belt - see operation "V-belt, Remove and Install".
Attach coolant hose to intake manifold. Attach vacuum hose to intake manifold pressure sensor. Attach brake servo vacuum line to intake manifold - 20 Nm/15 lbf. ft. Attach fuel lines to throttle valve injection housing - note allocation. Connect wiring harness plugs to idle speed stepper motor, throttle valve potentiometer, injectors and coolant temperature sensor. Attach accelerator Bowden cable.
For C 14 NZ, X 14 NZ, 16 NZR, C 16 NZ, X 16 SZ and X 16 SZR: place cable harness connector on coolant temperature sensor. For X 16 SZ and X 16 SZR: place cable harness connector on exhaust gas recirculation valve.
Attach engine vent hoses to camshaft housing cover. Attach air intake cover to throttle valve injection housing - note gasket. Attach air intake hose to air cleaner housing. Attach lower coolant hose to radiator.
