Ribbed V-belt, remove and install (engines from MY '93) > < Ribbed V-belt tension, check (engines with automatic ribbed V-belt tension roller)

 

Engine Timing Side  

V-belt, Remove and Install  

Object Number: 616191  Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove air intake hose and air cleaner housing - see operation "Air Cleaner Casing, Remove and Install".  

Loosen fastening bolts (1), (2) and (3). Swing alternator aside and remove ribbed V-belt.  

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Place V-belt on V-belt pulley. Adjust V-belt tension with KM-128-A. Press lever until the pin is in contact with the V-belt and a humming tone becomes audible. Multiply the value read by 100 - this corresponds to the V-belt tension in N.  

V-belt tension:  

new V-belt  

450 N  

run-in V-belt  

250 N to 400 N

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Attach tension shackle to alternator and intake manifold - tightening torque 25 Nm/18.5 lbf. ft. Tighten lower fastening bolt - tightening torque 35 Nm/ 26 lbf. ft.  

Install air intake hose and air cleaner housing - see operation "Air Cleaner Housing, Remove and Install".
