Gasket for End Shield, Replace
 Remove, Disconnect Unscrew ground cable from battery. Completion of gearshift cover - refer works instruction "Gearshift cover installation/removal and/or sealing". Hollow pin at universal joint of shift may be left installed. Front left wheel. |

Hold engine with KM-263-B and carabine hooks or with MKM 883-1. Protective panelling out of left wheel well (2 bolts, 3 nuts, 4 clips) - see operation "Wing, Remove and Install" in group "A". Reversing lamp. | 
|
Remove, Disconnect Damping block from left front frame side member, engine suspension remains at transmission, lower engine with KM-263-B until end shield can be guided past front frame side member, axle shaft must not lie on front axle body, end shield cover from transmission (11 bolts) - fluid escapes. | 
|
Support motor with KM-263-B and carabine hooks and lower approx. 50 mm. Remove end shield cover from transmission. For F 15/F 17- transmissions: Note fit bolts (arrows). Unscrew damping block from left front frame side member. | 
|
For F 18/F 18+ transmissions:
Remove, Disconnect Rocker arm for gear set brake (1) - release retainer pin with small screwdriver and remove in direction of arrow.
 Important! Do not drop retainer pin into transmission housing! | 
|
F 10, F 13, F 16, F 20 transmission: Remove retaining ring. Cylinder bolt (inner number size 8). Remove transmission drive shaft with KM-556-1-A and KM-556-4 from clutch toothing and gear block - see operation "Clutch Disc and Pressure Plate, Remove and Install". |

Remove, Disconnect End shield from transmission (5 bolts).
Important! Fluid escapes. | 
|
Remove, Disconnect Remove end shield from transmission housing. | 
|
Important! Note spacing washer (for reverse idler gear shaft: remove, if necessary and install on axle). And magnet (if present). | 
|
 Inspect Condition of shift rod mount. Drive shaft roller bushing. Mount for main shaft.
 Install, Connect Cement new gasket with bearing grease on transmission. |

 Tighten (Torque)

Attach bearing shield cover to transmission using new gasket |

Important! For F 15/F 17: note fit bolts (arrows).
Install, Connect All transmissions: attach existing earthing strap to end shield cover. Lift transmissions with KM-263-B or MKM-883-1. Fix damping bolts to front frame side members with new fastening bolts - Tightening torque 75 Nm. Install protective lining in the left wheel arch - refer work instruction "Attaching and Detaching Wings" in construction group "A".
Install, Connect Mounting front wheel - tightening torque 110 Nm/81 lbf. ft. For transmissions F 18/F 18+: Position swing lever for disc brake (1) and secure with split pin in arrow direction. All transmissions: Attach gearshift cover to transmission - see operation "Gearshift Cover, Remove and Install and/or Seal".
Important! On installation, check clearance between dowel pin and shift rod actuation. |
