Ribbed V-belt, Remove and Install

  Remove

Remove air cleaner housing with hot film mass air flow meter and air intake hose - see illustration "Air duct X 20 DTL, Y 20 DTL" and "Air duct Y 20 DTH up to MY 2003" or "Air duct Y 20 DTH as of MY 2003, Y 22 DTR".

Mark running direction of ribbed V-belt.

Tension ribbed V-belt tensioner in direction of arrow via hex lug (1) (counter-clockwise) and remove the ribbed V-belt.

Remove fastening bolts (2) and remove ribbed V-belt.

  Install

Attach ribbed V-belt.

Attach fastening bolts to engine damping block bracket – tightening torque 55 Nm / 41 lbf. ft.

Tension ribbed V-belt tensioner and attach the ribbed V-belt - note the direction of rotation and fitting position of the ribbed V-belt:

  1. Routing of ribbed V-belt without air conditioning.
  2. Routing of ribbed V-belt with air conditioning.
