Clip off knock sensor wiring harness plug (1) from bracket and
disconnect – lay cable out of the way. Remove knock sensor
(2) from cylinder block. Pull knock sensor cable out downwards
– note cable run.
Caution
The entire contact surface of the knock sensor must lie directly
on the cylinder block – ensure utmost cleanliness. Do not use
washers, spring washers or toothed washers. Observe tightening
torque exactly.
Install
Attach knock sensor to cylinder block – tightening torque
20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.
Draw wiring harness plug for knock sensor through upwardly
– ensure correct cable routing. Join together wiring harness
plug and knock sensor and clip onto bracket.
Install starter – see operation "Starter, Remove and
Install".
