Rear Panelling Guide Rail, Remove and Install Sideways (Model L 67) > < Rear Panelling Guide Rail, Remove and Install Sideways (models L 35, L 70)

Attach the park pilot sensor bracket in the rear panelling (model L 08)

  Install

Object Number: 8326744  Size: DEFAULT

1.   Pre-drill holes in the rear panelling on the left and right (arrows)
•   Mark out the holes before drilling
•   Drill the holes from the inside out using a ( 6 mm ) bit
2.   Drill holes in the rear panelling
•   Drill the holes from the inside out using a 25.4 mm quick-helix drill
•   Drill the holes from the outside in using a 25.4 mm quick-helix drill
Note:   Use a sliding calliper to check that the holes are the correct size!
Note:   Deburr the visible, outer cut edge of the holes slightly!

Important:   Use Plastic Repair Kit (90 544 117 / 15 05 004). Follow the accompanying instructions carefully!
3.   Prepare the bonding surfaces of the rear panelling and both park pilot sensor brackets
•   Clean the bonding surfaces of the rear panelling and both park pilot sensor brackets
•   Apply primer to bonding surfaces of the rear panelling and both park pilot sensor brackets
4.   Prepare the adhesive
•   Cut 4 reinforcement mats to size (approx. 40 mm wide)
•   Prepare adhesive cartridge

Important:   Make sure that no adhesive escapes out through the hole! The exterior of the park pilot sensor bracket must be flush with the rear panelling!
5.   Bond the left park pilot sensor bracket in place
•   Apply adhesive to the inside of the rear panelling
•   Insert the bracket and centre it
•   Apply adhesive to the top of the bracket (1)
•   Position the left and right reinforcement mats (2) on the adhesive applied to the bracket
•   Push on the reinforcement mat and smooth it flat with protective foil
Important:   Make sure that no adhesive escapes out through the hole! The exterior of the park pilot sensor bracket must be flush with the rear panelling!
6.   Bond the right park pilot sensor bracket in place
•   Apply adhesive to the inside of the rear panelling
•   Insert and position the bracket
•   Apply adhesive to the top of the bracket
•   Position the left and right reinforcement mats on the adhesive applied to the bracket
•   Push on the reinforcement mat and smooth it flat with protective foil

7.   Once the adhesive has hardened, remove the protective foil from the reinforcement mats
8.   Install 2 park pilot sensors
