Camber is the angle between a wheel's centre plane (1) and a
vertical line (2) to the plane of the road.
It is a positive camber (I) if the wheel centre plane tilts
outwards from the vertical line. It is a negative camber (II) if it
tilts inwards towards the vertical line.
To achieve high lateral forces and hence better handling when
cornering, modern vehicles are usually designed with a negative
camber.
