Check: Short to Voltage of Signal Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    A37 Control Unit - Anti-Lock Brake System
  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A37 Control Unit - Anti-Lock Brake System
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 11, 12
    &
    Ground

Note:

If the vehicle is equipped with Open & Start, perform the measurement within 15s after Ignition ON.

    &
    Ground

greater than 500 kOhm

  • Connect fused jumper wire to:

    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 2
  • Measure resistance between the following terminals:
    A37 Control Unit - Anti-Lock Brake System
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 12
    &
    A37 Control Unit - Anti-Lock Brake System
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 11

  • Vehicle jacked-up and rear right wheel slowly turned by hand

Important:

For vehicles with ESP, the Steering Angle Sensor and the Yaw Rate Sensor have to be calibrated by using the diagnostic tester after replacing the control unit.

E002 Result: Defective Component
