Remove

Raise vehicle by its full height

Detach the lower engine cover and right engine splash guard
|
4. |
Lower vehicle by its full height
|
6. |
Detach vacuum line
• |
Detach 2x vacuum hose from vacuum line
|
• |
Unscrew 2x bolts (arrows)
|
|
|
|
7. |
Detach 2x hose (1) from cylinder housing cover
|
|
|
8. |
Remove cylinder head cover
• |
Unscrew 7x bolt (arrows) in a spiral from the outside
inward
|
|
|
|
Adjust
9. |
Turn the crankshaft until the cam pair (1) faces up.
|
|
|
10. |
Check valve play
• |
With feeler gauge
Note: Valve play must
be checked at room temperature when the engine is cold.
– |
Desired values: Intake valve 0.3 ± 0.05 mm / exhaust
valve 0.35 ± 0.05 mm
|
|
|
11. |
Adjust valve play
• |
Turn the bucket tappet until the tappet groove faces
outwards
|
Important: Make sure that the
valves are not adjusted when the piston is at TDC. Otherwise, the
valves could strike the piston head.

Press down bucket tappet with EN-46797 (1)
|
|
|
|

Insert shim (1)

Coat new shim with engine oil and insert in bucket tappet with
code facing down
|

14. |
Turn crankshaft
• |
Turn in direction of engine rotation until cam pair (2) faces
up
|
• |
Turn in direction of engine rotation until cam pair (3) faces
up
|
• |
Turn in direction of engine rotation until cam pair (4) faces
up

Check and adjust
Note: Valve play must
be checked again on all adjusted valves

|
Remove
15. |
Clean sealing surface
|
16. |
Install cylinder head cover
• |
Tighten 7x bolt in a spiral from the inside outward 10 Nm
|
|
17. |
Attach 2x hose to cylinder head cover
|
18. |
Install vacuum line
• |
Attach 2x vacuum hose to vacuum line
|
|
20. |
Raise vehicle by its full height
|
21. |
Install lower engine cover and right engine splash guard
|
22. |
Lower vehicle by its full height
|
