Replace EGR cooler > < Engine cover, remove and install

Astra H

Replace exhaust gas recirculation valve

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet
2.   Remove engine cover (1)
•   Pull off engine cover
Note:   Re-attach any retaining rubbers (2) to the engine cover which may have become detached
– Unclip 4x engine cover

3.   Detach metal pipe exhaust gas recirculation valve (5)
•   Unscrew 2x bolts
4.   Remove exhaust gas recirculation valve (1)
•   Unscrew 2x bolts (1)
•   Unscrew 2x nuts (3)
– Remove bracket (2)
•   Unscrew 2x stud bolts

  Install

5.   Install EGR valve
•   Attach metal pipe exhaust gas recirculation valve
– Insert new gasket
– Screw in 2x bolts
Note:   Do not tighten bolts
•   Insert new gasket
•   Tighten 2x bolt 25 Nm
•   Tighten 2x nuts 25 Nm
– Insert bracket
•   Tighten 2x stud bolt 25 Nm
– Coat stud bolts with screw locking compound and insert
6.   Attach metal pipe exhaust gas recirculation valve
•   Tighten 2x bolt 25 Nm
7.   Connect EGR valve wiring harness plug
8.   Install engine cover
•   Clip in 4x
9.   Close bonnet

Replace EGR cooler > < Engine cover, remove and install
