Seal Ring – Rear Crankshaft, Replace
Remove

Remove clutch pressure plate and carrier disc
|
3. |
Remove flywheel (1)
Note: KM-6263 remains attached to the engine. To provide a
clearer illustration, KM-6263 is not
shown here
|
4. |
Check rear crankshaft seal ring, flywheel and starter crown
gear for damage or wear - replace if necessary
|
5. |
Clean contact surfaces on crankshaft and flywheel
|
|
|
Important: Do not damage sealing
surfaces
|
6. |
Edge out rear crankshaft seal ring with suitable tool
|
7. |
Clean sealing surfaces and remove gasket remnants.
|
Install
8. |
Install crankshaft rear seal ring
• |
Coat sealing lip of new seal ring (1) with silicone grease
|
• |
Push on seal ring with the closed side against KM-235-6 (2)
|
• |
Push KM-235-6 with seal ring on to
crankshaft journal
|
• |
Fit KM-658-1 (3) on KM-235-6 (2)
– |
Knock in seal ring until it sits flush in the housing
|

|
9. |
Fit flywheel
• |
Place flywheel (1) on crankshaft and align
|
• |
Tighten 6x bolt (3) 35 Nm + 30° +
15°
– |
Apply screw locking compound
|
|
|
|
|
11. |
Install clutch pressure plate and carrier disc
|
