Removing and installing charge air pipe > < Replace air intake pipe

Replacing resonator

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet
2.   Disconnect battery
3.   Secure radiator at right and left using suitable wire bars (1)
•   Insert 2x wire bars (1)
Object Number: 3446164 Size: DEFAULT


4.   Raise vehicle by its full height
5.   Remove right engine splash guard (2)
•   Unscrew 4x bolts (1)
•   Remove 2x body-bound rivets (3)

6.   Remove bracket, right side of radiator (2)
•   Unscrew 2x bolts
7.   Remove bracket, left side of radiator (1)
•   Unscrew 2x bolts
Object Number: 3446501 Size: DEFAULT


8.   Lower vehicle by its full height
9.   Remove resonator (1)
•   Unscrew bolt (2)
•   Release resonator in direction of arrow and remove
Object Number: 3446506 Size: DEFAULT


  Install

10.   Install resonator
11.   Raise vehicle by its full height
12.   Install left radiator bracket
•   Screw in 2x bolts 20 Nm
13.   Install right radiator bracket
•   Screw in 2x bolts 20 Nm
14.   Install right engine splash guard
•   Screw in 4x bolts
•   Install 2x body-bound rivets
15.   Lower vehicle by its full height
16.   Remove radiator retainer from bracket
•   Remove 2x retainers
17.   Connect battery
•   Attach ground connection to ground terminal
– Screw in nut 3.5 Nm
18.   Programme transient memory
19.   Close bonnet
