The following test steps must be performed in the given order. If a fault is found in one test step, the subsequent test steps can be skipped.
Trouble Codes
- Select the following Functional System:
Electronic Diesel Injection System EDC 16C9/16C39, Z 19 DT, Z 19 DTH, Z 19 DTL
- Delete trouble codes
- Ignition OFF
- Wait time: minimum 10 s
The overshoot time of the control unit EDC16 must be considered.
- Drive the vehicle in different driving conditions (engine speed and engine load conditions) over a considerable distance. Pay attention to unusual noise and other system irregularities.
- After test drive read again trouble codes
With trouble code P0606 recognised:
If trouble code P1625 with the symptom 58 has been recognised:
If trouble code P0335 with the symptom 28 has been recognised:
After successful test/fault repair proceed to the next test step
Note:
The Main Relay is switched off
If the engine is very hot, the cooling fans stay on after the ignition is switched off. In this case, the control unit switches itself off 10 s after the cooling fans go off.
