Customer complaint about oil leakage. |
| Cause: |
Cracked air pressure membrane inside of the
cylinder head cover. A cracked air pressure membrane (see TSB 2266)
may block the blow by channel in the cylinder head cover and result
in a rise in crankcase pressure. This increases in pressure could
cause the oil leakage. |
| Production: |
Improved parts have been implemented in
production as of engine no.: 20MV7706 (13-Oct-2008). |
Remedy:
In case of customer complaint remove the oil dipstick or oil filler
cap with running engine. Please be very careful oil could spray out
of the engine. If available a pressure gauge has to be used during
this test. If an increase in pressure is recognized, the cylinder
head cover should be replaced.
