Remedy

Excessive white smoke

The following test steps must be performed in the given order. If a fault is found in one test step, the subsequent test steps can be skipped.

Function Checks

• Check the following system / signal for proper operation:
  Engine Cooling

Programming

• Select the following Functional System on the diagnostic tester:
  Electronic Diesel Injection System Multijet 6JO, Z 13 DTH
• Perform the following programming:

Data List

• Check the following data list parameters:
  
  
  

Function Checks

• Check compression

The check of the following system is only necessary, if the outside temperature is less than 0 °C (32 °F).

Actuator Tests

• Perform the following Actuator Tests:
  

After successful test/fault repair proceed to the next test step

Excessive black / grey smoke
