Transmission Secondary Housing, Replace (AF22)
 Remove
Important: Secure converter so it
does not fall out

Remove transmission
|
| 2. |
Attach transmission to KM-694-A
(2)
|
| 3. |
Attach assembly to KM-113-2 (1)
|
| 4. |
Remove oil drain bolt (3)
| • |
Drain transmission fluid and collect for damage diagnosis 
|
|
|
|
|
| 6. |
Detach cover plate (1) from valve body cover and
transmission
|
| 7. |
Remove fluid temperature sensor (2)
|
| 8. |
Detach secondary housing cover (3) from transmission
|
| 9. |
Remove plug
| • |
Replace plug seal rings
|
|
|
|
| 10. |
Remove fluid pump assembly (1) with multi-disc brakes B1 and B2
|
| 11. |
Remove freewheel F1 (2)
|
| 12. |
Detach secondary housing (3) from primary housing
| • |
Unscrew 15x bolt
Note: Note differing
bolt lengths. Detach housing parts using a plastic hammer, if
necessary.

| 13. |
Clean all components and check for wear or damage
Note: Replace affected
components if necessary.
|
|
|
| 14. |
Pull roller bearing (arrow) out of secondary housing using
KM-J-26941 (3), KM-313 (1) and KM-483
(2)
Note: If necessary,
heat secondary housing using a hairdryer.
|
| 15. |
Remove pipe clamp (6) for fluid line.
Important: Do not bend pipe.
|
| • |
Undo pipe ends using large screwdriver
Note: If necessary,
remove pipe using KM-J-7004 and KM-586 .
|
| • |
Detach 3x bolt (4) for fluid retaining plate from secondary
housing
|
| • |
Remove fluid retaining plate using magnets (on underside of
fluid retaining plate)
|
| • |
detach cut seal ring from pin in housing (5)
|
|
|
| 16. |
Clean all components and check for damage or wear
Note: Replace affected
components if necessary.
|
Important: Ensure that no sealant
residue falls into the primary housing.
|
| 17. |
Remove sealant residue from primary housing and carefully clean
sealing surfaces
|
Install
| 18. |
Attach fluid retaining plate to secondary housing
| • |
Apply 3x magnet to underside of fluid retaining plate
|
| • |
Attach fluid retaining plate to secondary housing
| – |
Insert 3x bolt (2) with locking compound 6 Nm
|
|
|
Important: Avoid deformation.
|
| 19. |
Attach fluid line with pipe clamp (1) to secondary housing
6 Nm
| • |
Carefully drive fluid line into secondary housing using plastic
hammer
|
Important: Expand seal ring no
more than is necessary.
|
| • |
Install new cut seal ring (3) on pin in housing
|
|
| 20. |
Press new roller bearing into secondary housing using KM-629-1 (5) and drift (4) until the lower edge
of the bearing touches the bottom of the housing
Note: Do not jam
secondary housing when pressing it in so as to avoid damage.

|
|
| 21. |
Attach secondary housing (1) to primary housing
| • |
Coat sealing surface on primary housing with sealing
compound
|
| • |
Tighten 15x bolt 30 Nm
Note: Note differing
bolt lengths
|
|
| 22. |
Install freewheel F1 (2)
|
| 23. |
Install fluid pump assembly (1) with multi-disc brakes B1 and
B2 .
|
|
|
| 24. |
Install plug
| • |
Install plug M8 (2) with new seal ring 8 Nm
|
| • |
Install plug M18 (1) with new seal ring 35 Nm
|
|
| 25. |
Attach cover plate (5) to valve body cover and transmission
25 Nm
| • |
Coat sealing surfaces with sealing compound
|
| • |
Attach secondary housing cover (3) to transmission 8 Nm
|
| • |
Attach fluid temperature sensor (4) to transmission 10 Nm
|
|
|
Important: Secure converter so it
does not fall out
|
| 26. |
Install converter
|
| 27. |
Attach oil drain bolt (3) to transmission with seal ring
Note: Use new seal
ring.
| • |
Tighten oil drain bolt 40 Nm
|
|
| 28. |
Detach transmission assembly with KM-694-A (2) from KM-113-2
(1)
|
| 29. |
Detach transmission from KM-694-A
|
| 31. |
Check and correct transmission fluid level
|
|
