Fuel System Repair Instructions Important: In the presence of fuel vapours or escaping fuel - observe safety regulations and national legislation. Store drained fuel in a suitable, sealable container. 1. Petrol engines: Note: Up to Z20LEL, Z 20 LER and Z 20 LEH, the vehicle fuel system is designed in petrol engines as a return-free fuel system. There is only one short fuel return line on the fuel tank. In the Z20LEL, Z 20 LER and Z 20 LEH, the fuel return line runs from the distributor pipe to the closure cap maintenance aperture on the fuel tank.
2. Diesel engines: Note: The high pressure pump of the diesel engines is self-bleeding and is supplied by an additional electric pre-pressurising pump (in the fuel tank) on Z13DT, Z19DT, Z19DTL and Z19DTH engines. 3. Drain fuel tank Note: The fuel tank must be drained with a suitable, commercially-available fuel removal unit and suction hose - follow safety regulations and national legislation. The fuel tank is fitted with a refill limit float valve. This is located on the filler neck in the fuel tank. To prevent damaging the refill limit float valve, a suitable suction hose must be used. 4. Fuel lines, quick-release fittings Important: In the presence of fuel vapours or escaping fuel - observe safety regulations and national legislation. Store drained fuel in a suitable, sealable container. Note: The following procedure should be observed when connecting lines using quick release couplings:
