Servo Motor for Headlamp Range Control AFL, Replace

Important:   High voltage! Do not touch components in the xenon dipped beam when the dipped beam is switched on. Ignition and light switch OFF.

  Remove

1.   Remove headlamp
2.   Open housing cover
•   Open housing carefully in the central area with a suitable tool

Warning:   Do not damage the wiring harness inside for the headlamp range control servo motor
3.   Partially remove housing cover
•   Remove housing with a pair of combi-pliers up to approx. 0.5 cm above the preset fracture point (1)

Warning:   Do not damage the wiring harness inside for the headlamp range control servo motor
4.   Remove servo motor
•   Unscrew 2x bolt (1)
•   Release servo motor
•   Disconnect wiring harness plug (2)

Warning:   Do not damage the wiring harness inside for the headlamp range control servo motor
5.   Remove housing cover
Note:   Remove remains of cover until the new cover can be sealed with positive locking
•   Deburr cut edges

  Install

6.   Insert servo motor
•   Connect wiring harness plug
•   Clip servo motor into joint head
7.   Attach servo motor
•   Tighten 3x bolt
8.   Attach housing cover
•   Unscrew bolt
– Cover of xenon lamp
•   Insert gasket
•   Place cover in position
•   Tighten 3x bolt

9.   Install headlamps
10.   Adjust headlamp
