•  All consumers turned off  

•  Turn steering wheel very slowly to stop in both directions.

Value has to be approximately constant; there must be no large oscillations  

 

Note:  

The diagnostic tester only displays a relative value; i.e. it is used for recognition of variations in the squib circuit impedance, caused by an intermittent problem for example.  
The displayed value is usually greater than 0 % but less than 100 %. It indicates an open circuit if the value is greater than 200 %.  

The steering wheel must be turned very slowly if an intermittent problem is to be recognised, as the diagnostic tester display is only updated once a second.
