Rear End Door Lock and Latch, Remove and Install  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove dummy cover from rear end door using a screwdriver. Release lug on knob of lock lever using a small screwdriver and remove knob from lock lever.   Unbolt rear end door catch. Remove joint clip from linkage for upper latch and lower latch. Detach linkage upper latch and lower latch from rear end door lock. Remove rear end door catch from door channel.

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove insulating tube from linkage for upper and lower latch from door aperture. Unbolt upper and lower latches. Remove linkage for upper latch from door channel and remove linkage from rear end door. Remove linkage for lower latch from door channel and remove linkage from rear end door.     Install, Connect    Guide linkage for upper and lower latches into door channel and bolt on latches - 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft. (see illus. I and II).   Install insulating tube for upper latch linkage (see illus. III). Attach linkage for upper and lower latches in rear end door lock. Attach joint clips to linkage for upper and lower latches. Bolt on rear end door lock - 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.   Fasten knob to lock lever. Install dummy cover on rear end door.
