Brake System, Bleed, Brake Fluid, Change  

Bleed brake system and check for leaks.  

Notice: 

To ensure a thorough bleeding of the brake system adjust the operating overpressure of the brake bleeder unit to 1.5 bar.  

Use only DOT 4 brake fluid.  

Brake System, Bleed  

Connect brake bleeder unit with adapter (1) to brake fluid reservoir. Pressurise brake system - observe manufacturer's instructions.  

Bleeding procedure:  

Rear right  

 

Rear left  

 

Front right  

 

Front left  

 

Bleed according to bleeding procedure.

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Connect hose (2) to relevant bleeder valve. Open bleeder valve with spanner (1) and allow fluid to flow out until clear, bubble free brake fluid appears. Close bleeder valve - tightening torque 6 Nm / 4 lbf. ft.  

Object Number: 616191  Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove brake bleeder unit - Note residual pressure in brake fluid reservoir.  

Object Number: 616201  Size: DEFAULT  Important!   

Used brake fluid must not be re-used.

Brake System, Check for Leaks  

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Build up pressure by repeatedly actuating brake pedal. Install brake pedal tensioner between driver's seat support and brake pedal. When using a brake pedal tensioner without pressure decrease display Pressure Gauge MKM-558-A must be used. Test duration approx. 10 min. If the brake system is free of leaks, the built-up pressure remains unchanged.
