Turn pistons to centre position. Loosen con-rod bearing cap uniformly and remove with bearing shell. Press con-rod off from bearing journal and remove bearing shell.
Clean Clean con-rod bearing journal, con-rod bearing cap and all sealing surfaces. |
|
The con-rods are marked I, II or III depending on big end diameter (see illus. I). Con-rod mark - Bearing shell colour code
Measure Measure con-rod bearing clearance and con-rod lateral clearance - see operation "Crankshaft Bearing Clearance, Measure" and "Con-rod Bearing, Check (Lateral Clearance)" (see illus. II).
Install, Connect Coat new bearing shell halves with engine oil, insert in con-rod and con-rod bearing cap. Place con-rod on bearing journal and bolt on bearing cap (see illus. III).
Torque - Angle Method Con-rod bearing cap to con-rod - 25 Nm / 18 lbf. ft. + 100 ° + 15 ° 1) . Turn further with KM-470-B. |
