Valve repair does not necessarily mean that the valves have to be replaced with new ones. As long as there are no crater-like burns on the valve cone, valves can be reworked once or twice by grinding and thus made suitable for use again. After grinding valves, always measure the valve indentation - see operation "Cylinder Head, Disassemble and Assemble". The valve stem end must not be reground. For all reworking of valves, note that the valve head angle is 44 ° , the valve seat angle is 45 ° . This means that the valves close tight quickly and compensates for unavoidable working tolerances. |
