Front Camshaft Seal Ring, Replace  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove air cleaner housing and air intake hose. Release toothed belt and remove from camshaft gear - see operation "Toothed Belt, Remove and Install".   Loosen camshaft gear fastening bolts. Unscrew TDC fixing bolt and remove gear.

Unbolt front plate from cylinder head and cylinder block.

  Remove, Disconnect   

Press front plate slightly aside and lever out camshaft seal ring using screwdriver.     Important!    Do not damage sealing surfaces.

  Install, Connect   

Coat seal lip of new seal ring with silicone grease (white) and position on camshaft journal.   Place thrust ring of Installer KM-660 on camshaft bearing journal.

  Install, Connect   

Drive seal ring in to stop with Installer KM-660.   Bolt front plate to cylinder head and cylinder block.     Tighten (Torque)    Front plate to cylinder head/cylinder block - 10 Nm / 7 lbf. ft.

  Install, Connect   

Position camshaft pulley on camshaft, put into correct position with alignment pin. Lock camshaft pulley with TDC setscrew and tighten fastening bolts - 14 Nm / 10 lbf. ft.   Check timing, adjust if necessary - see operations "Toothed Belt, Remove and Install" and "Timing, Check and Adjust".   Install air intake hose and air cleaner housing.
