The rpm of the engine is measured at the pulley with the engine at operating temperature using an rpm gauge that is based on a photocell. A 1 to 2 cm wide aluminium film must be applied to the front collar of the crankshaft pulley (arrow, see illus. I). Start engine and measure lower and upper idle speed with rpm gauge. Lower idle speed should be 830 - 930 rpm.
Adjust If this nominal value is not attained, adjust lower idle speed as follows: Loosen lock nut and turn stop bolt (arrow, see illus. II) of engine speed adjustment lever until nominal value is attained. After adjustment, tighten lock nut. |
