Toothed Belt Cover - Lower Part, Remove and Install
 Remove, Disconnect Remove air cleaner housing - see illustration "Air Ducts (X 14 XE, C 14 SEL, X 16 XE, C 16 SEL)" or "Air Ducts (C 16 XE)". Remove upper part of toothed belt cover - see operation "Toothed Belt Cover - Upper Part, Remove and Install". For version without AC: remove ribbed V-belt - see operation "Ribbed V-belt, Remove and Install (Vehicles without Power Steering and AC)" or "Ribbed V-belt, Remove and Install (Vehicles with Power Steering)". For version with AC: detach ribbed V-belt from alternator pulley and set aside (do not remove) - see operation "Ribbed V-belt, Remove and Install (Vehicles with Power Steering and AC)".
Remove, Disconnect Remove right front wheel. If present: remove lower, right wheel arch cover. For version with sheet metal oil pan: remove flywheel cover plate and lock flywheel with KM-517-B. For version with aluminium oil pan: Lever closure plug (arrow) out of opening with screwdriver. Insert KM-911 (1) in opening of oil pan and lock flywheel or drive disc. Detach increment disc (2) from crankshaft. Remove fastening bolt (3) and unclip lower part of toothed belt cover from rear toothed belt cover.
 Install, Connect Clip lower part of toothed belt cover to rear toothed belt cover and fasten - tightening torque 4 Nm / 2.95 Lbf. ft. Attach increment disc with new bolt to crankshaft - tightening torque 95 Nm / 70 lbf. ft. + 30 ° + 15 ° . |

Remove, Disconnect For version with aluminium oil pan: remove Locking Tool KM-911 and insert new closure plug in aperture. For version with sheet metal oil pan: remove Locking Tool KM-517-B and install flywheel cover plate.
 Measure Measure crankshaft pulse pickup distance with feeler gauge. Nominal value: 1.0 ± 0.7 mm. If gap incorrect - replace crankshaft pulse pickup bracket.
Install, Connect Install ribbed V-belt - see operation "Ribbed V-belt, Remove and Install (Vehicles without Power Steering and AC)" or "Ribbed V-belt, Remove and Install (Vehicles with Power Steering)" or "Ribbed V-belt, Remove and Install (Vehicles with Power Steering and AC)". Install upper part of toothed belt cover - see operation "Toothed Belt Cover - Upper Part, Remove and Install". Install air cleaner housing - see illustration "Air Ducts (X 14 XE, C 14 SEL, X 16 XE, C 16 SEL)" or "Air Ducts (C 16 XE)".
