Checking with TECH 1
TECH 1, Connect to
Vehicle
Before connecting the
equipment, read the TECH 1 Operating Instructions carefully.
· Ignition OFF
· Connect TECH 1 to diagnostic plug in engine compartment
The following is displayed
in the given language:
· DISPLAY CAPTURED DATA FROM LAST SNAPSHOT? Answer with
"NO".

· Type in Model Year (2 digits) e.g. "90" for MY 1990
· Select vehicle type with "YES" or "NO" key:
CORSA-A/NOVA
or KADETT-E/ASTRA/BELMONT
· STOP ENGINE TURN ON IGNITION Answer with "YES".
· AUTOMATIC SYSTEM IDENTIFICATION? Answer with "NO".
· SELECT ELECTRONIC ENGINE SYSTEM? Answer with "YES".
· Select C 12 NZ or C 14 NZ with arrow keys and confirm with
"YES".
· The C 12 NZ/C 14 NZ control unit is now sending data to TECH 1.
· Compare CODE & VERSION with Checking Procedures and confirm with
"YES" key.
· If one or more faults are stored in the C 12 NZ/C 14 NZ control
unit, these will be indicated in the TECH 1 display.
· Note the trouble codes.
· Select FO:DATA LIST with "F0" key.
· Start engine, engine at idle speed

· Compare all data shown in display from test steps 01-24 with the
following nominal values from Section 5.1.3 (Quick Check).
Begin
with test steps 01, 04 and 21.
· Press "EXIT" key and, if necessary, select
mode "F5", "F6" or "F7".
· Where there are variations from the nominal values in the Quick Check
List, carry out trouble-shooting according to section 5.1.6.
Note: The program modules may only be changed or
inserted with ignition OFF by pressing the two outer catches.
