This test step shows only whether the control unit has recognized the conditions for 02 SENSOR LOOP CLOSED or not.

Control conditions for recognition of the closed loop are:

1.The oxygen sensor must have exceeded a voltage of 600 mV or gone below 300 mV once and

2.The engine operating temperature must be greater than 20 °C/68 °F or

3.The engine operating temperature must be greater than 68 °C/154 °F, if the engine was started at below 18 °C/64 °F and

4.Trouble code 44 or 45 must not be present.

If the full-load enrichment displays ACTIVE, the TECH 1 display in test step 07 remains at CLOSED if the above conditions are fulfilled, although the control function of the control unit is switched off in this case and the oxygen sensor voltage is not employed to correct the air/fuel mixture.

I.e., test step 07 does not display whether the control unit is actually regulating, but only whether control readiness is present (control conditions are fulfilled or not fulfilled).
