Trouble-shooting:

Nominal Value:

Cause of Fault:

(If nominal value is not attained)

·   Ignition ON

·   Measure voltage:

from:      battery

to:          ground

and

·   in wiring harness plug K 57

from:      wiring harness plug C 4, B 1, C 16

·   Battery discharged

·   Battery has short circuit in one cell

·   Corroded battery terminals

·   Voltage supply to K 57/K 91 Ter. C 4, B 1, C 16 not okay.

·   Ground connection to control unit not okay. K 57/K 91 C 12, C 13, D 1, A 12, B 10

to:          wiring harness plug C 12, C 13, D 1,A 12, B 10

greater than 11.5 volts

·   Connector X 19 Ter. E or X 19 Ter. G interrupted (Corsa-A/Nova only).

·   Connector X 5 Ter. 9 or X 14 Ter. B or X 14 Ter. C interrupted (Astra-F MY '92 only).

·   Connector X 5 Ter. 3 or X 5 Ter. 4 interrupted (Astra-F MY '93 only).

·   Relay K 58 or ignition control unit K 20 defective.

·   Control unit defective

·   Start engine

greater than 9 volts

·   Check starter circuit

·   Engine running at idle speed

greater than 13 volts

·   Alternator or regulator defective
