IMPORTANT:  If, after removing the radio, the nominal value according to the above conditions for checking is atttained, i.e. trouble code 24 is not stored, the leads for ground and the speed signal in radio plug X 69 are mixed up.

 

Before starting trouble-shooting, check that the correct odometer frequency sensor is installed. P 14 or sensor in instrument P 21

·   Ignition OFF

·   Disconnect odometer frequency sensor plug P 14

·   Measure voltage:

from:      wiring harness coupling P 14 Ter. 1

to:          wiring harness coupling P 14 Ter. 3

·   Ignition ON

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

11.5 to 13.5 volts

·   Lead interruption

from:      ignition lock Ter. 15

to:          P 14 Ter. 1

or

from:      P 14 Ter. 3

to:          ground

 

 

·   Measure voltage:

from:      wiring harness coupling P 14 Ter. 2

to:          wiring harness coupling P 14 Ter. 3

·   Ignition ON

 

 

 

 

greater than 10 volts

 

·   Lead interruption

from:      wiring harness coupling P 14 Ter. 2

to:          control unit K 57/K 91 Ter. B 2

 

 

·   Ignition OFF

·   Bridge lead temporarily*:

from:      wiring harness coupling P 14 Ter. 2

to:          ground

·   Engine running at idle speed

 

·   Connect lead to wiring harness plug P 14 Ter. 2 and draw the free end over the ground terminal of the battery.

·   Check voltage supply of instrument:

·   Ignition ON

Engine telltale H 30 ON

 

·   Fuse F 17 defective

·   Fault in instrument illumination.

 

 

·   Ignition OFF

·   Disconnect plug X 5 (Corsa-B) from control unit to odometer frequency sensor in instrument

·   Bridge lead temporarily*:

from:      X 5 Ter. 7 (Corsa-B)

to:          ground

·   Engine running at idle speed

 

 

·   Lead interruption

from:      X 5 Ter. 7 (Corsa-B)

to:          control unit K 57 Ter. B 2

·   Control unit K 57 defective

 

 

·   Connect lead to wiring harness plug X 5 Ter. 7 and draw free end over door check strap.

·   Using multimeter, measure voltage:

·   Disconnect plug from Triple-Info-Display X 23

·    Using multimeter, measure voltage:

to:          plug X 23 Ter. 12

·   Fuse F 7 defective

·   Fault in instrument illumination.

 

 

·   Ignition OFF

·   Disconnect plug X 9 (Astra-F) from control unit to odometer frequency sensor in instrument

·   Adapt lead X 9 Ter. 6 and Ter. 7 with Elektronic-Kit KM-609

·   Bridge lead temporarily*:

from:      X 9 Ter. 4 (Astra-F)

to:          ground

·   Engine running at idle speed, operating temperature

*   Connect lead to wiring harness plug X 9 Ter. 2 and draw the free end over the door check strap (ground).
