Checking with TECH 1

If an actual value determined during system checking with TECH 1 deviates from the nominal value, start checking as specified in the F0:DATA LIST. Checking must be commenced at test step no. 01, as the steps are constructed progressively; i.e. the procedure and scope of each test step presuppose that the preceding test step did not indicate cause for complaint.

Note:    Program Modules may only be changed when the TECH 1 is disconnected from the vehicle. Remove or insert module by pressing the two outer catches.

Note:    Trouble codes 41, 42, 63 or 64:

A fault in the programming of the control unit as of MY '93 means that the TECH 1 display changes between "TC PRESENT" and "TC NOT PRESENT" as soon as trouble code 41, 42, 63 or 64 is recognized. If trouble code 41, 42, 63 or 64 was recognized, the engine telltale is switched on and remains switched on until the ignition is switched off.
