Test

Work Order Description

Nominal Value

T01

Check: Vehicle Configuration

Is the following information correct for the actual vehicle?

Immobiliser

Yes: T02

No: T04

T02

Check: Diagnostic Trouble Code stored

•  Is there a trouble code stored in the following control unit:
K117 Control Unit - Immobiliser

Yes: E01

No: T03

T03

Check: Short to Voltage/Ground/Interruption of Signal Circuit

•  Ignition OFF
Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
K57 Control Unit - Multec

•  Selector lever in position N

•  Ignition ON

•  Move vehicle slowly 0.3 m forward and back again

•  Measure voltage between the following terminals:
K57 Control Unit - Multec
Wiring Harness Connector Terminal D10
&
Battery Voltage (Positive Terminal)

The value alternates between less than 7 V and greater than 10 V

Yes: E02

No: E03

T04

Check: Short to Voltage/Ground/Interruption of Signal Circuit

•  Move vehicle slowly 0.3 m forward and back again

•  Measure voltage between the following terminals:
K57 Control Unit - Multec
Wiring Harness Connector Terminal D10
&
Battery Voltage (Positive Terminal)

•  If nominal value is not attained perform the following procedure:
Disconnect each of the following components/control units consecutively from the wiring harness and repeat the measurement each time:
H1 Radio
H27 Warning Buzzer - Safety Check

The value alternates between less than 7 V and greater than 11 V

Yes: E04

Result

Cause Of Fault

E01

•  Repair the concerned circuit/component.

E02

•  Defective component:
K57 Control Unit - Multec

E03

•  Short to voltage/ground/interruption of circuit between:
K117 Control Unit - Immobiliser
Terminal 7
&
K57 Control Unit - Multec
Wiring Harness Connector Terminal D10

or

•  Following system/component is faulty:
Immobiliser

E04

•  If the nominal value is reached during one of the measurements, the component/control unit that has been disconnected immediately before that measurement is defective.

or

•  Defective component:
K57 Control Unit - Multec

E05

•  If the nominal value is not reached with any of the measurements, this indicates that one of the following faults is present:
Short to voltage/ground/interruption of circuit between:
K57 Control Unit - Multec
Wiring Harness Connector Terminal D10
&
Instrument
Terminal 3
or
U15 Display - TID
Terminal 12

  or
