The nominal engine speed at idle speed can be altered using TECH 1 and permanently stored in the engine control unit.

The nominal idle speed may only be altered within the defined limits specified by the General Operating Permit. It should only be adjusted if the engine is subject to severe vibration in the basic setting and this can be lessened by altering the engine speed.

Once the nominal idle speed has been altered once, F0:DATA LIST no. 39 must display ACTIVE. The display may only return to INACTIVE when the engine speed has been reset.
