Conditions for Checking

Nominal Value

Affected terminals:                   B10, B12, B13

Possible trouble codes:             93

 

Important:

This actuator test is used for precise diagnosis (fault isolation) for when trouble code 93 is stored.

 

Ignition ON

Engine OFF

 

 

Press key F5 in the system main menu, select the desired test using the arrow keys and confirm with YES. Follow the instructions in the TECH 1 display.

TEST OKAY!

 

Engine telltale flashes

Note:

The check is completed after approx. 2 s.

 

 

If the TECH 1 display on the right appears, a control unit malfunction has been determined.

If, however, more than one circuits have been recognised as the defect, the output end stage (quad driver) of the control unit may be damaged.

 

TEST FAILED!

The following faults can be recognised with this actuator test:

 

 

Engine speed signal for tachometer and AT

Short circuit to ground

 

TN SIGNAL

OUTPUT VOLTAGE

LOW

 

Short circuit to battery voltage

TN SIGNAL

OUTPUT VOLTAGE

HIGH

 

Fuel consumption signal for MID

Short circuit to ground

TRIP COMPUTER

VOLTAGE LOW

 

Short circuit to battery voltage

TRIP COMPUTER

VOLTAGE HIGH

 

Engine telltale switched to ground

Short circuit to ground or circuit interruption

CHECK LIGHT

VOLTAGE LOW

 

Short circuit to battery voltage

CHECK LIGHT

VOLTAGE HIGH
