IDLE AIR CONTROL

42, 43

·   Engine running at idle speed

·   System is not in TECH 1 diagnostic mode

·   Coolant temperature higher than 80 °C/ 176 °F

·   Battery voltage is in range from 8 to 16 volts

·   Following trouble codes not stored: 21, 22, 24

·   Idle speed is not maintained; deviation is greater than 125 rpm

·   Above conditions must be fulfilled for at least 20 s

Note:

If the speed sensor has malfunctioned and trouble code 24 has not yet been recognised, trouble code 35 may be set under certain conditions.
